Grade: 5th-7th
Class Description: Use the scientific method and hands-on experiments to learn about chemistry, physics, and biology. Each class will focus on a specific topic and include a lab that illustrates the science behind it. Students will keep a log book of their hypotheses, observations, and conclusions. Sample experiments include: Non-Newtonian fluids (oobleck), making slimes, crystal egg geodes, leaf chromatography, testing pH, etc. Students are encouraged to participate in the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair held annually in Bremerton in March. Materials and tools will be provided. Prerequisites: Ability to read written instructions and follow verbal directions.
Annual cost: $450, monthly installment cost: $50, one time materials fee $90
